社会技术究竟是否存在的问题在整个哲学界并未能达成统一的认识.文章通过深入分析“社会技术是否存在?”这一问题指出,这一问题之所以不能迅速在哲学界取得统一认识的背后深层次的原因是技术的划分缺乏一套完整与严格的标准,任何对于现象域中技术类别的划分都缺乏足够的哲学高度的理论支持,显得没有底气,现象域中的技术类别与技术的划分标准之间缺乏有效的整合.  相似文献

Geometrical Product Specification and verification (GPS) is an ISO standard system covering standards of size, dimension,geometrical tolerance and surface texture of geometrical product. ISO/TC213 on the GPS has been working towards coordination of the previous standards in tolerance and related metrology in order to publish the next generation of the GPS language. This paper introduces the geometrical product specification model for design, manufacturing and verification based on the improved GPS and its new concepts,I.e., surface models, geometrical features and operations. ABSTRACT

New York University Abu Dhabi Library has developed new strategies to increase efficiency in technical services processing between units based in New York and Abu Dhabi. This case study discusses the challenges specific to the international context and the methods used to overcome them, increase speed processing, and ultimately improve patron access to materials. A key factor in successful implementation was the strategic decision made by library administration to provide the newly-hired technical services librarian with three months of cross-training in New York before permanently moving to Abu Dhabi. A specific model of communication was put into action leading to the resolution of many problems and inefficiencies. In addition, a broader study of global communication tools was conducted and resulted in best practices for other library units within the university network. This case study outlines the background, communication processes and outcomes.  相似文献

This study investigated how well chemical engineering graduates perceive they were prepared for work in industry. To this end, sixteen interviews were carried out with a purposive sample of recent University of Cape Town chemical engineering graduates. Qualitative analysis of the interview data showed that graduates felt that overall, they were well prepared for work in industry. They perceived their strengths to be their technical background, problem solving skills, formal communication skills and life-long learning abilities. The following areas of weakness were also identified: work in multi-disciplinary teams, leadership, practical preparation and management skills.

The use of interviews for data collection is a significant departure from the methods used in other studies in this area. The rich and contextual data gathered from the interviews justified this choice and contributed to the identification of issues not previously mentioned in the literature. For example, an unexpected finding of the study was that there was a clear link between the technical and non-technical attributes of engineering graduates, a result which has clear implications for the design of undergraduate engineering programmes.  相似文献

技术性贸易壁垒的传染是指一种技术性贸易壁垒的出现导致更多种和更大范围内技术性贸易壁垒的出现,具体表现为从对一种产品设置技术性贸易壁垒到对多种产品设置、从一个国家设置技术性贸易壁垒到多个国家设置、从对同一种产品设置一种到设置多种技术性贸易壁垒、从商品流通领域扩展到生产、加工以及服务领域和从独立使用扩展到与关税、一般非关税壁垒一篮子使用五种形式。本文从基本因素、羊群效应、竞争效应、“制动阀”效应、唤醒效应和民间效应六个方面解释其形成原因,然后基于传染特点提出了应对技术性贸易壁垒的对策建议。  相似文献

Over the last decades the notion of learning has become increasingly popular both as an intellectual site of investigation and as an organizational aspiration. However, learning has many—sometimes contradictory—meanings. For pragmatic sociologists and researchers in science and technology studies (STS) the notion may appeal because of its connotations of ongoing and unpredictable transformation. Yet, a more predominant viewpoint associated with cognitive research, conceive of learning in terms of organized and controllable change processes. We characterize the latter viewpoint as the unbearable lightness of learning. We use Argyris and Schön’s model of organizational learning to illustrate some of the problematic theoretical assumptions and empirical consequences, which are entailed by viewing learning in exclusively cognitive terms. Prominent among these is the inability to analyze social and technologically mediated organizational learning. In conclusion, we argue that alternative models for organizational learning could find inspiration in science and technology studies.  相似文献
